Small web presentation for a czech company that sells electrical tools. I did everything beyond design including CMS integration. I went with ProcessWire and it was an absolute breeze. Never heard of it? Well, do yourself a favour and look it up. It´s definitely my CMS of choice now.

New skin for a car rental Wrodpress plugin. My job was coding a static template so I did all the HTML/CSS/JS. The plugin is very customizable, so my code had to be quite flexible. You can see a demo in the link below.

BACKBONE APP WITH FIREBASE BACKEND

This is a Backbone application with simple CRUD functionality. I used FireBase extention of Backbone cleverly called BackboneFire, which allows you to synchronize your collections and models with FireBase in real time! Cool but not particularly useful in this case. On top of that I sprinkled a bit of material design (shout out to guys from materialize.css) and flexbox. Mmm, yummy.

Portfolios are usually graphic-heavy projects and this was no exception. Biggest challenge was therefore making the site looking crisp on all screens and at the same time keeping the loading time acceptable. Using SVG sprites for icons, javacript library for responsive images and, of course, usual optimization such as heavy image compression, I think we were able to do a good job. I was responsible for everything frontend, on the backend I used great and lightweight Kirby CMS.

STORYBOARD ARTIST BIG SHOT PORTFOLIO

Pretty minimalistic and straightforward portfolio of a young illustrator. There was an interesting problem I had to deal with, though. Those prominent pictures in header and footer had to be nice and crisp on big screens and at the same time I didn´t want to force mobile devices to download huge pictures. Media queries and css background-picture to the rescue!

About

Coding

HTML5, CSS3 and Javacript (jQuery) is a bread and butter of every front end developer and I am no exception. I strive to write clean, semantic and maintainable code and follow best practices of a modern web development. I am also familiar with PHP, SASS, github and can work with various content management systems.

Philosophy

So what makes a website good in my opinion? It's responsive. Loads fast because it's optimized. Design is built around the content and doesn't get in the way of usabilty. UX, functionality and accessibility is more important than being flashy. The user should be in the center of attention of everyone who is in the process of making websites

About me

I'm self-taught and motivated to keep on learning. In the everchanging world of front end development it's important to stay sharp and up to date. I'm very resourcefull and my googling skills are exceptional, if need be. Being fast learner and a warm person, I can be a good addition to any team!
